With the last siren at the MCG almost ready to sound, the Spring Racing season is right around the corner. It’s time to pull out the pocket squares and silk ties and get ready for a season of festive, fun (and occasionally boozy) frivolities, trackside. Hyped as one of the biggest spending periods of the year, the Spring Racing Carnival demands impeccable, race-day appropriate attire. Because even, on the oft chance when the time the last race rolls around, you end up mistaking a rather large fascinator for an obtrusive bird in a state induced by perhaps one too many glasses, you’ll look stylish doing it.
Whilst the Spring Racing season is labelled a ‘Carnival’ for good reason, it’s important not to end up resembling aforementioned employees. Keep your attire, and your sobriety levels, in check with Racing Regulation. Remember, you want to be making the pages of Newspapers for the ensemble you wore, not the drunken stunts you pulled. It’s also imperative to dress appropriately for the Race Day you attend.
